Desk items, stamp boxes had one or more compartments to store individual postage.

This solid silver, two slot example was made by Dominick & Haff whose three part "rectangle, square, diamond" emblem, "Sterling," and model number "15" appear on the underside. It measures 2 1/2" by 1 1/2" by 7/8" high and weighs approximately 2.0 T. oz.

There is a solid dividing wall between the slots, while the bottoms are slanted to facilitate removing the stamps.

The corners of the box are rounded and the lid is secured by a flush hinge that runs the full width of the backside.

There is a line script "FEC" or "TEC" monogram engraved on the cover top.

In very good condition, there is without dents or breaks in the body, although there are perhaps two faint pinprick dimples, the lid fits securely, the hinge is tight, and the finish is bright and even, noting some surface wear.
