A mid 19th century, 8 3/4" long, approximately 2.0 T. oz., berry or other serving spoon, this piece is marked "Tice & Co.," presumably for Brooklyn, New York jeweler, William R. Tice. The only other firm that incorporates this surname cited in references is "Huntington & Tice," Cincinnati, and not a likely match for this.

The pattern is an "Oval Thread" with the name "Julia Atwater" inscribed sideways in cursive lettering on the handle front.

The generously-sized bowl is shell form with a scalloped edge.

In superb condition, this shows no polishing wear, nor dents, bends, or burrs in the bowl, although there is a small file mark on the backside heel (lower right inset in above image), imposed no doubt by someone confirming this is solid (coin) silver, which it is. The finish is bright and even.
