A 6" long, approximately 1.2 T. oz., item, this is marked "Sterling," with the Dominick & Haff three part manufacturer's mark, along with the retailer's name, Boston's "A. Stowell & Co."

The pattern is "Mazarin," introduced in 1892. It features a heavily gadrooned, graduated in size, margin on a shaped handle with an embellished terminal.

There is a flowing script "MEP" monogram on the front and the name "Carrie" engraved on the reverse.

A sugar sifter, it has a particularly charming, 2" diameter, 5/8" deep, round, gold finished bowl with a scalloped rim with embossed shoulders. The interior is pierced in a swirling design.

In excellent condition, this shows no evidence of use save for some polishing loss of the gold in the bowl. Pattern detail remains clear and well-defined. There are no dents or bends, and the finish is bright and even.
