The Randahl silver firm was established in Chicago in 1911 and continued in operation in that area until 1965 when it was absorbed by Reed & Barton.
The name "Randahl" that appears on this 9 1/4" long, not quite 1.1 T. oz., candle snuffer was adopted in the 1930s according to Dorothy Rainwater in her Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers.
Model number "5," as stamped on the handle, along with the word "Sterling," the style of this is Arts & Crafts.
The handle is comprised of a flat band of silver with a center twisted section and looped end.
The actual snuffer is bell-shaped, 1 1/4" high and 1 1/2" bottom diameter.
Never inscribed or engraved, this remains in essentially like-new condition, showing no wear or damage and having a bright overall finish.
