Issued in 1906, Alvin's "Viking" is a pattern unto itself, seemingly unrelated to any of the design trends of its period.
It features stylized shell and scroll elements on a grooved, columnar, handle.
There is an Old English "P" monogram engraved in the reserve area on the handle front.
This example is additionally unusual in that it is a unique form, 5" long, .9 T. oz., solid silver, tea infuser.
Whereas many, if not most, tea infusers are adapted from teaspoons, this is its own creation, with a round, 1 1/2" diameter, bowl. This has a snap latch and pale, satin matte gold finish on the interior.
In very fine estate condition, it is without wear or damage, and has a bowl that is free of dents, bends, or nicks. The patina is warm and even.
Marks are Alvin's "A" emblem, "Sterling," and "Patent," all in fine lettering of the sort Alvin favored.
