An American variant upon the English Kings pattern, Dominick & Haff's Charles II features a convex shell on the handle front with a honeysuckle ornament and a heavily beaded border. The backside has a concave shell on the end with the same beaded border as the front, and is otherwise plain.

There is a lined script "R" monogram engraved in the area between the shell and honeysuckle.

This example is a 6 1/8" long, 1.1 T. oz., solid silver sugar sifter.

It has a 2" diameter, 5/8" deep, hemispherical, pierced bowl. Characteristic of the line, the bowl is scallop form and includes cupped areas along the margin between the ribbing.

This was retailed by "Wm. Wise & Son," Brooklyn, NY, as marked on the reverse, along with D&H's three part emblem, "Sterling," and "Pat-d. 94."

In excellent estate condition, this is without polishing wear, flaws, dents, bends or breaks in the bowl, and has a brilliant finish. There are three horizontal, faint but visible, scratches above and below the monogram.
