An expressive, highly detailed and high relief, design with a sculptural quality, Durgin's rarely found 1888 Heraldic incorporates imagery befitting its appellation.

The iconography includes a pair of upraised (presumably eagle) wings that appear to rise out of a crown, which itself sits over a lion rampant on a shield. Lastly, there is a rearing steed projecting out of a castle turret set below the above images.

This example is a 6 7/8" long, relatively heavy, 1.5 T. oz., jelly or preserve spoon.

The 2 1/2" by 1 5/8" by 1/2" deep bowl is a form particular to Durgin. A stylized shell, it has a raised swirl base and fluted or pie crust edge.

In this instance, the bowl retains a remnants of an original gold wash.

The handle backside has a fancy Old English "C" monogram.

In flawless condition, this shows no wear or evidence of use, save for the noted loss of gold in the bowl, which otherwise is free of bends, dents, or nicks.

Marks are Durgin's "D" emblem and "Sterling."
