This sterling silver porringer is 4 5/8" across and stands 1 3/4" high. The extreme reach is 6 3/4" to the end of the handle. It is heavy, weighing 5.8 T. oz. The maker was Towle, so stamped, along with the number 7004 and the word Sterling. The underside is engraved "1918" and the front "Jean." This is a traditional form with a bowl-shaped body and a thick Chippendale style handle. The condition is very good. The body is free of dents and the base sits flat. There are a couple of pinprick nicks on the wall and some surface scratching on the interior bottom, but these are negligible. The finish is pleasing.
