This dinner fork is a dramatic example of early 20th century art deco design, as it evolved in Continental Europe. It stamped "Made in Austria," "Sterling," "Ges. Gesch.," and has a triangle with "JCK 935" in it. Presumably the 935 is the silver standard, which would make it slightly higher than sterling. The mark is that of J.C. Klinkosch, Vienna. The firm executed designs by Otto Wagner and Otto Prutscher in the first quarter of the 20th century. The scale of this is extravagant. It is 8 1/2" long and weighs a robust 2.2 T. oz. The condition is outstanding. The form is perfect, with straight, pointed tines. The finish is superb.
