This 7 1/8" long sterling silver dessert or oval soup spoon is an example of Joseph Seymour's (Syracuse) rarely found, circa 1870, Prairie Flower. It is a figural pattern that features a medallion style head at the tip of the handle. Other design elements include ivy, a draped swag and other floral detailing. This is a weighty piece that is monogrammed "Hattie" in Old English. The condition is flawless. Pattern details remains well-defined. The bowl is free of tip wear and is without dings, dents or burrs. It is stamped Sterling and J.S.S. & Co. on the reverse.
