Dominick & Haff's Queen Anne is a plain, double-lined design introduced in 1910. It is similar to Durgin's Fairfax and probably competed toe-to-toe with that pattern and other similar ones of the period. The early 20th century seemed to want to purge itself of the immediately preceding, and quite opulently interpreted, Victorian and Art Nouveau tastes. A product of this impulse, Queen Anne is quiet, elegant and dignified. This example is an 8" long, 2.2 T. oz., sterling silver berry spoon. It is monogrammed "LHB" on the front, while the date "1910" is inscribed on the reverse. The bowl has a flanged rim, which widens toward the handle, and is pierced in this area. Marks are the D&H emblem, and the words Sterling and Pat-D.10.
