These 12 knives were made by Reed & Barton and are in that company's 1871 "Gem" pattern. They are estate items, with a single line of ownership, and in their original presentation, blue velvet and satin lined box. Each one is monogrammed "CAU" (?) in a feathered script. All of them are marked "Reed & Barton" and "4" on the blades, and "Pat'd Mar. 14th 1871" on the reverses. The condition is outstanding. There is no loss of the silver plating on these, nor are there scratches, burrs, or bends.
