These four matching knives are 11" long, of which 4 3/4" is the hollow handle. The handles are in a Coburg pattern and have three French touchmarks. On one side of the ferrule is the French 1819-38 first (950) standard, a bearded man's head. The other side of the piece is marked with the corresponding period "face in a circle," and then a DI on what what appears to be scales. The later mark is likely that of the maker. The blades are blunt-end, English, and presumably later replacements. They are stamped "Harrison Bros. & Howson." These are elegant items, suitable for banquet service. They are also in outstanding condition. The blades are flawless. The handles fit tightly, and are free of dents or dings.
