This 8 1/2" long, 1.9 T. oz., coin silver spoon appears to be a true serving piece rather than a place or tablespoon. The 3" by 1 3/4" bowl is over-sized in comparison to similar length pieces. The retailer's stamp on this is Boston's Gray and Libby, but a likely maker is Durgin, who produced a "Bow" design. Other marks are Patent and Pure Coin. There is an Old English "W" monogram. The condition is very good. There is no polishing wear, and the finish has a fine patina. The bowl is well-shaped and free of burrs, dings, or dents. There are a couple almost imperceptible lines just below the bow. These could be scratches, but they also could be stress marks resulting from the die strike.
