Large Boston (BB&K) Bead Coin Master Butter Knife

This coin silver master butter knife has a filled handle and a solid blade. It is 7 1/2" long, which is rather lengthy for this mid 19th century form. It is marked "BB&K" on the backside of the blade, for the Boston retailer Bigelow, Brothers & Kennard. It is also engraved "S. Barrett" in script. The handle pattern is a "Bead" with a shell tip. The blade has extensive scroll and acanthus leaf engraving. The condition is excellent. The hollow handle is free of dings or dents, the seams are tight, and the fit with the handle is snug. The blade is even, flat and without dings, bends or burrs.
