This 6 3/4" long sugar sifter is an unmarked example of Whiting's "Diamond." While stamped "Sterling," this has a coin silver sensibility and was likely produced circa 1870, during the transition from coin to a sterling standard. This is an exceptionally fine example in immaculate condition. There is no monogram or monogram removal. The finish is brilliant, and the bowl is finished in a rich gold wash front and backsides.
