This solid sterling silver letter open is 8 1/8" long and was made by Newark's Wm. B. Kerr, likely early in the 20th century. It features a high relief, art nouveau, pond lily design. This exhibits all the free form, lush, sinuous qualities which define art nouveau. Kerr was an especially adept firm at art nouveau expression, and this piece attests to that. It is in outstanding condition. Marks on the reverse are the Kerr emblem (it is small and some rubbed, but still distinct), the word Sterling, and the number 1382.
