This coin silver coffin end spoon is 5 5/8" long. It is stamped J&AS for New York's J. and A. Simmons. Dating circa 1800, the wreath-like engraving with a "N*W" monogram exhibits 18th century sensibilities. The condition is very good. The form and finish are pleasing. The bowl is well-shaped and free of dings, dents, nicks, or burrs. The backside of the bowl has an exposed drop, and what appear to be slight teeth marks, but these do not carry through to the front side.
