At 5 7/8" long, this is a full-sized teaspoon. The pattern is Whiting's art nouveau Violet. This is an early example, stamped "Pat. App. For," along with the Whiting logo, the word Sterling, and an Old English "O." The age is doubly verified by the "1905" engraved on the reverse. The front is monogrammed "CWL" in script. The condition is excellent. Pattern detail remains sharp and well-defined. The finish is outstanding. The bowl is well-shaped and free of dings or dents, but does have surface scratches apropos of its age.
