Unusual Wood & Hughes Aesthetic Sterling Spoon

This sterling silver spoon is 5 7/8" overall, and is probably a sugar spoon although function is uncertain. It has an elongated, somewhat narrow, bowl that is 2 1/4" by 1 1/4". Made by Wood & Hughes, it is an individualistic, aesthetic design. The handle is some plain, with a feathered edge and script "P" monogram. The bowl continues the feathered look around its irregular rim, while the interior has a hand hammered, matte surface, much in the manner of Shiebler's Homeric designs, and other aesthetic work of the 1880's. The condition is excellent. The reverse is stamped WwH and Sterling.
