This sterling silver ladle is 13" long and weighs 6.0 T. oz. The pattern is XVth Century by Gorham. This is an 1890's design that Gorham produced only in a limited number of serving pieces. Its design inspiration is individualistic and thereby quite distinct from the predominant late Victorian and Art Nouveau styles of the time. This is finely crafted, with an especially appealing bowl that is 4" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" deep. The piece is in superb condition. There is no wear, the bowl is perfect, and the finish outstanding. The backside is plain. The backside appears to have had a monogram removal, although the signs of this are very subtle. Marks are the Gorham lion, anchor, G, and the word Sterling.
