W.B. North & Co. (NY) Coin Silver Tablespoon

The maker of this spoon, marked W.B. North & Co., is listed in Ensko located in New York City circa 1823. There was an earlier association with New Haven, Connecticut. The date is consistent with the style of this pain end, 8 11/16" long tablespoon. It is moderate weight at 1.5 T. oz. There is a large, fancy, feathered "JM" monogram. The condition is very good. The overall form and finish are excellent, with a bowl that is well-shaped, is without tip wear, or dings or dents. There are some scratches deep in the heel, but they are modest.
