Please note: There were two of these originally, but only one remains available. This coin silver tablespoon was made by Newport, Rhode Island's William S. Nichols. It is coffin end style, dating circa 1805. Measuring a lengthy 8 7/8", and weighing approximately 1.5 T. oz., its slender proportions make it appear bigger yet. It has a feathered "A" monogram and is stamped "Nichols" on the backside, and an interesting lined arc drop on the bowl backsides. The condition is very good. The form is excellent, with straight shanks, and unworn beveled edges to the coffin end. The bowl is well-shaped, but has slight unevenness in the bowl and a bit of wear at the end.
