Gorham called upon a full array of iconic imagery for its regally inspired Henry II pattern. The central and dominant feature is a lion's head. This is surrounded by all manner of courtly embellishments including acanthus leaves, scrolls and stylized shells. This particular item is a 5 3/4" long, very heavy, solid sterling silver youth fork. It has a cursive "GCH" monogram. It is in immaculate condition, with clear pattern detail, and even, pointed tines. Marks are the Gorham lion, anchor, G, Sterling, Patent 1900, and the name of the retailer, Washington, D.C.'s renowned Harris & Shafer Co.
