Grecian was originally a Henry Hebbard pattern, the dies for which were later picked up by Whiting. Produced in both coin and sterling during its history, this 7 1/8" long, and quite heavy, dessert or tea fork is stamped the later "Sterling" (as well as "Patent 1862"), therefore likely made by Whiting. The dominant features of this design are the figural ram's head that surmounts the handle, and the devil's face in the center of the shank. There are three of these available, all matching and with the same script monogram. The condition is excellent, with clear pattern detail remaining, and even, pointed tines.
