This sterling silver cream pitcher was model number 7223 made by Towle, as indicated by the markings on the underside. Ir stands 3 1/4" high to the rim, and 4" to the top of the handle. It has an essentially square, tapered body 2 1/2" on a side, and sits on a square pedestal base that is 2" on a side. The weight is 3.1 T. oz. The interior is finished in a bright gold wash, and the handle is solid. The look is colonial revival, and suggest a dating of the first quarter of the 20th century. The design would be compatible with flatware patterns such as Towle's Mary Chilton, Gorham's Plymouth, or Durgin's Fairfax. There is no monogram or removal. The condition is flawless, and the finish is especially appealing.
