Gorham's Meadow is a late 19th century, naturalistic design. The motif appears as the name implies, and incorporates clover and other vegetative elements. This item is an 8 3/4" long berry spoon. The line is heavy, and that is true of this which weighs 3.6 T. oz. It has decorated shoulders characteristic of older pieces and is marked with the Gorham lion, anchor, G, as well as Sterling and Patented 1897. The condition is outstanding, with very fine pattern detail, and a clean, dent and burr free bowl. There may have been a monogram removal. The signs are very subtle, with no intrusion on the pattern, and the surface has age wear the same as the rest of the piece, so the monogram would have been very shallow and removed well in the past.
