Early W&H Coin Silver Dessert or Place Spoon
$ 38
At 7 1/4" long, this coin silver piece is a dessert or place spoon. It is marked "WwH" for Wood and Hughes, and although references suggest this mark was employed from 1871 onward, and "W&H" earlier, the design of this suggests 1860's or before. It weighs 1.0 T. oz. and has a broad, fiddle tipt end that seems more toward an Ohio Valley or Pennsylvania design than New York, so it is distinguished in this regard as well. It is inscribed "F.D. Baldwin" in script. The condition is immaculate. The form and finish are both outstanding.
