This is a fabulous antique English knife rest I brought back from England recently. The silver plated knife rest was made 1890-1910 and measures 1.5 inch high by 4 inches long. The knife rest has a daisy at each end, a fluted column bar and leaves on the outside of the ends. The knife rest is in excellent, mint condition. This is a victorian hair receiver or hair receptacle made by the Queen City Silver Company of Cinncinati, Ohio USA 1890-1910 and was a part of every victorian woman's vanity set. This particular piece is of pressed glass with a damascened or niello silverplate lid. The hair receiver measures 2.5 inches high by 5 inches in diameter. It is in excellent condition. This is an English hallmarked sterling silver snuff box or pill box with marks for Birmingham 1898 and the manufacturer A&LLR. The lid and bottom have matching hallmarks. The box has a beautiful repousse art nouveau type design on the top. It is oval in shape and measures 1.5 inches long by 1 inch wide by .5 inch high.
