This is a cute little single egg cup I brought home from England recently. The figural hand painted eggcup is a chick or chicken in pale yellow ceramic with hand painted accents and measures 2.25 inches high and 2.5 inches long. It is unmarked and made in the 1950s. This character jug or toby jug is a tall 6 inches high and depicts an old lady with flashy earrings! She is handpainted and was made by Burlington Ware of J. Shaw potteries, Staffordshire, England. I saw her at an antiques market in Gloucester (in the snow!) & had to bring her home. She is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restorations.
