This creamy tan stoneware pie vent, pie bird or pie funnel was made in the 1920-1930s and is unmarked. The pie vent was almost certainly made in Staffordshire area of England and I got it in the Potteries district recently. The pie vent measures 3.5 inches high by 2.5-2 inches in diameter because it is out of round and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. A fun piece. And practical! This is a neat English vintage original porcelain pie funnel or pie vent made by Nutbrown, England in the 1930s in the shape of an elephant that is 3.5 inches high and is 3 inches wide. This cute little guy is supposed to let steam out of your pie so it doesn't bubble over during baking. It is marked Nutbrown inside. The set consists of a pepper shaker 3 inches high, an open salt or salt cellar that measures 1.5 inches high and a mustard pot that is 3 inches high and a mustard spoon on a caddy.
