Cheese Dish Shelley Dainty Present From Ilfracombe

This is an antique neat cheese dish or cheese dome that may be a marriage. The base measures 6.5 inches by 5.5 inches and is a Dainty shape By Shelley China, England with the mark for 1925-1945 and the pattern British Registry mark for 1896 which is in line for the design of the dome or lid. The lid bears the victorian sentiment A Present From Ilfacombe, an English seaside resort and measures 3.25 inches high by 5 inches by 3.5. The lid does not have a maker's mark, but does has 3 tiny gold numerals on the inside. The base and lid are not a perfect fit, and there is a very slight color difference between the 2. The pieces are in very good++ condition with no chips or cracks and only minor gold wear. A neat, decorative and useful piece, though. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured is $13.80.
