Shelley Bird Candle Holder Luster Antique Art Deco

This is a wonderful antique art pottery luster candle holder made by Shelley, England 1911-1916 with an art deco shape. The design is a fabulous unamed pattern with hand colored enamel over transfer of a bird and grapes with a high luster finish reminiscent of Spano Lustra, a famous finish and style developed by Frederick Rhead when he was art director of Wileman Shelley. The candleholder measures 3.25 inches high by 7 inches long and is in excellent, mint condition with no chips, cracks or wear. Very decorative and very collectible.
