This is a wonderful hallmarked English sterling silver pocket watch fob, medal or charm awarded in 1925 to the runners up of a cricket tournament on the HMS Excellence, an English Royal Navy ship commissioned during the reign of Queen Victoria that served through World War I and II after refurbishment. The watch chain ornament weighs 5.5 pennyweight and is hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1925 and the maker J and D. It is beautifully hand engraved and has an applied shield in front for a monogram but there are none. The fob is is in excellent condition with normal wear. Neat piece of nostalgia and history and are now experiencing a revival as fashion jewelry! Fob necklaces were featured in Victoria and Country Living magazines in January 2008. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured.
