Hamilton Transferware Bone Dish Crescent Green Gold

This is a John Maddock and Sons Ltd, England crescent bone dish in the Hamilton pattern made 1896-1906. The pattern on a molded and scalloped semi porcelain, a type of ironstone, is a green floral transfer or transferware with a gold star or snowflake and gold trim. The crescent dish or bone dish measures 1.15 inches high by 5.74 inches long by 4 inches wide and is in very good +++ condition with no chips or cracks and only minor gold wear. Crescent dishes were developed by the victorians to sit by the dinner plate and collect the bones of the meal. They are used now for salads, sauces, sushi at the dinner table.
