Handsome pair of Sheffield chafing or entree dishes, 19th century, marked incuse on bottom of each "BEST SHEFFIELD HEAVY SILVERPLATING" and "GOLDSMITHS' ALLIANCE LIMITED CORNHILL.LONDON", heavy weight, each measure approximately 11 1/4" by 8 3/8", removable handles each correspond to the number of each piece of the set ( 2 and 3), gadroon edge, high relief detail on handles, no monograms. Very fine estate condition, normal wear consistent with age and use. Wear showing some copper on bottom edges, utensil scratching inside both bottom dishes (one show scratching down to copper). An excellent addition to your collection of early Sheffield.
