TONGS, JOHN FRIES, PHILADELPHIA. PA, c. 1830s

Coin silver tongs, impressed "J. FRIES" in serrated rectangle along with an eagle and "PHILA", for John Fries, Philadelphia, PA, who worked 1830-1850,shell tips, approximately 6" in length, great engraving, monogram "JEF" on arch in feather script. Very fine condition, only small bend on bottom of arch. I am sure that could be easily remedied by a competent jeweler or silversmith.
