Crude Brut Modernist Pin,Sterling & Moonstone,1950s

This rather crudely-made brooch may have been an amateur attempt, but it has an interesting look nonetheless. Sterling silver wires in abstract shapes are applied to a flat sterling background around a bezel-set stone that looks like either a moonstone or pale agate.

Marks:925 and another mark on back that may be a symbol for the maker, or is possibly a random mark.

Condition: Rough condition, blackening to areas front and back that don't polish out.
