Antique Button Hook with Lovely Art Nouveau Maiden

This art nouveau button hook, with typical decoration of a lovely maiden with flowing hair and curving lines on both sides, is a bit of an oddball--it may have been fashioned from another item--a piece of flatware perhaps. The end is oddly shaped with a curve in it, rather than the usual straight hook. It looks like sterling because there is no base metal showing through, but I don’t see any silver marks. There are the usual little dings to the sides but the decorated portions are good. 7 3/8” total, top is 4”
