In years gone by the only form of paper advertising by shop owners was the colorful trading cards. These two soap cards are from the late 1890's or early 1900's. One reads Gowans & Stover U.G. soap with advertising on the back and a date of 188? Bay City Michi. John M. Kelton & Co. Dealers in groceries, provisions, dry good. How pretty this would look framed and hung in a country kitchen. Taken from a 1925 Woman's World magazine the picture shows mom in the kitchen mixing in an vintage stoneware bowl. Her Nesco Oil Cook stove made her kitchen hours a pleasure (I Think). Notice the gray spatterware appliances on the bottom and on the hoosier. Meassuring 10 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches in very good condition. The back side is another stove ad this one for Pefection Oil Cook Stoves and ovens. Frame and hang either side.
