Beautiful rice bowl. It is hand painted. The makers mark on the bottom appears to be Chinese, from the very early 1900s, but the style of the painting is Japanese. Blue plum blossoms on white porcelain. Not made for export to the West. Tiny rim chip on the bottom. 4 1/2" diam x 2" deep.

Blond boy in a pink shirt, violet pants with green umbrella. Made of bisque porcelain, beautifully hand painted with gold accents. This is of very high quality. Only mark on bottom is a "22" in red. The McKinley Tarrif Act of 1890 required that all items imported into the U.S. be marked with the country of origin. However, the law was not widely enforced until 1914. I believe this figure dates from the time period between 1900 and 1914 and was most likely made in Germany...
