Nautical High Quality Brass Anchor Mohogany Book Ends

You are buying a pair of Mahogany and brass bookends with a Nautical theme. High gloss finish to the wood and quality book ends in weight and appearance. The photos pretty much show it all. Even the backs are finished on these, and the underside of the bases are felt lined. The anchors are both different, giving the set a right and a left. The inlaid brass strips give it the finishing touch, although one piece is missing in the front inlay of one end. This could probably be repaired by someone in the know, but it is not a distraction, nor something your eye immediately goes to. The way the feet are positioned on the bottom of each Anchor tells us that they are a left and a right and not just turned to design them to work together. Which ever way you position them.. they will always be pointed in the same direction! It was suggested to us that the actual anchors were something used (candle holders) or given out by the Military.
