This is a wonderful heavy porcelain dish with a heavily enameled scene of an English hunt. Gentlemen on their horses are jumping fences and a hunting dog joins in. Hand painted and decorated. I first thought this to be a candy container, but I have never seen a candy container so big as this one. I found this to be made by K.R. aley Glassware Co. It was originally documented as becoming a night light with the addition of a wooden base with bulb. See pg 88 of Glass Animals, second edition ick & Pat Spencer. Made of thick clear heavy glass. This awesome horse head vase is not marked but I had believed it was made by Royal Haeger or Royal Hickman. I was informed that it was most likely a California Pottery piece. This glaze color and style is typical of all their works. Mauve and turquoise blue agate drip glaze. Vase measures 9" tall and has no chips or cracks. This old bowl is just so stunning. Has an old Japan mark, not sure of which company made it though. Yellow band with highlights of orange. Bluebird's flying, possibly swallows, and sitting on branches and what appears to be willow branches. Gold edge trim. This bowl is EXCELLENT in every way possible, not even a scratch.
