Stamped with the model number "3315" along with the Gorham "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," and date symbol for 1890, this sugar and creamer are breakfast or tete-a-tete size.

The sugar stands 4" high to the top of the swing handle, and rises 2" from the 2" diameter rim base to the edge of the rim which is 3 3/4" across. It weighs approximately 3.4 T. oz.

The pitcher is 3 3/8" tall, 3" across to the handle tip, has a 1 1/2" rimmed base, and weighs 3.0 T. oz.

A generously proportioned piece, this open salt has a top diameter of 2 7/16", stands 1 5/8" tall, and weighs a robust 2.7 T. oz.

Of outstanding quality, it has three, cast and applied, pad feet, with raised anthemions where they join the body. The splayed rim has a repeating leaf and bead design, while the interior is finished in a bright gold wash.

It is stamped on the underside "Eng'Sterling," which was a term in limited use circa 1870, and below this "925-1000" flanked by an Old... Click for details

height 5 1/2; length across handle 6 1/4 inches, weight 14.1 Troy ounces, the body richly chased with rose flowers, foliage and a band of acanthus leaves below, the realistically formed wrythen grapevine handle fastened together with silver tacks (see second enlargement), engraved "Minnie / June 2nd / 1875" in cartouche under spout, capacity one quart, fine condition.

If only we knew a bit more about Minnie, a good tale might be told, but alas we know nothing of this lass.

Stamped "Tiffany & Co. Makers," "Sterling Silver," "925-1000," and with a lower case "m," this master salt was put into production in 1902 as indicated by the model number "15251."

This was a period when Tiffany made reproduction items or designs inspired by older, especially English Georgian, holloware, and that is the case with this piece. It is round, cauldron shaped, and stands on three pad feet with acanthus leaf sprays where the legs are attached.

Measuring 6 1/2" in diameter and very weighty at 4.8 T. oz., this child's plate is stamped with Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" emblem on the backside, along with "Sterling" and the model number "5240."

It has a 1 1/8" wide, rimmed border that is divided into fourteen panels. Each of these is acid etched in a scene that portrays a different children's rhyme.
