Offered is a very fine pair of early American coin silver table spoons bearing the mark of Harrisburg craftsman George Beatty. Beatty seems to have focused mainly on clocks, and his silver generally bears the "Philadelphia Eagle" manufacturer's mark, thought to have been in use between 1825 and 1850. Biographical information on Mr. Beatty follows the description of this piece. These large and heavy spoons are engraved with a period script monogram, and each piece is graced with a well-struck,...

Offered is a lovely example of the work of Pennsylvania silversmith John D. Haverstick, a member of the celebrated Haverstick family of silversmiths. John D. Haverstick was working in Lancaster circa 1805-09; in Carlisle circa 1809-25; and in Erie after 1825. This probably dates to the Carlisle period, but could be a late Lancaster piece. Offered is an interesting early American coin silver teaspoon in a style consistent with 18th Century Pennsylvanian German silversmiths, and marked LH - probably for Lewis (Ludwig) Heck, working in Lancaster circa 1780-1817. This piece probably dates to about 1790-1800. It has an engraved monogram that could be period but appears a bit later in terms of the depth of the engraving.
