Philadelphia Coin Silver Teaspoon by Joseph Richardson Jr. c.1790-1800
$60.00
Offered is a good early American coin silver teaspoon by noted Philadelphia silversmith Joseph Richardson, Jr., circa 1790-1800. This teaspoon is initialed "SM" in period script and bears one of Richardson's smaller (and less common) maker's marks. This piece measures about 5 9/16 inches in length and weighs about 14 grams. Condition is good overall, with some surface wear but no dents, splits or repairs. The surface is a little bright but I am fairly sure it was not machine buffed. All in all a fine spoon by one of the most desirable American makers!
