Offered is an excellent set of five hard-to-find American coin silver dessert spoons in the fiddle and thread pattern, by Robert and William Wilson of Philadelphia, working circa 1820s-1850s. These spoons each bear the Wilsons' maker's mark and a city mark of PHILADA, and each has a well done period engraved script monogram. Please take a look at the various pictures. These spoons measure between 7 1/8 inches and 7 1/4 inches in length, and the total weight of the group is about 226 grams. They are quite heavy for their size. Condition is very good overall, with minor surface wear and no dents, splits or repairs. One spoon has a tiny notch on the underside of the handle, less than 1 mm in size, where someone did a silver test. It is quite discrete. All in all a fine group for someone building a service in this pattern!
