Offered is a nice set of five American coin silver dessert spoons bearing the scarce maker's mark of Prouhet & Witt, a St. Louis partnership of Hyppolite Prouhet and Thomas D. Witt that lasted from 1857 to 1862 or so. Each spoon has a legible maker's mark and also features a period engraved script monogram. Please review all pictures. These spoons measure about 7 1/8 inches in length on average, and the set weighs a total of about 134 grams. Condition is fair at best, with a ripple in one handle and a lot of dings and dents to the bowls. There are no splits or repairs. All in all a good example of this rare maker's mark in St. Louis coin silver!
