Fine Pair of Transitional Fiddle Teaspoons by Phillip Garrett of Phila
$45.00
Offered is a lovely pair of early American fiddle pattern coin silver teaspoons, by noted Philadelphia silversmith Phillip Garrett (1780-1851), who was working in Philadelphia from about 1801 through at least 1835. By style, these late transitional fiddle style teaspoons should date to about the 1810-20 range, give or take a few years. Each spoon has a good clear maker's mark and each has a period engraved script monogram. These spoons measure about 5 7/8 inches in length and the pair weighs about 26 grams. Condition is very good overall, with some very minor dimples or other signs of normal use, but no major dents and no splits or repairs. Please review all of the photos. All in all a fine early example of this noted silversmith's work!
