Erie, Pennsylvania Coin Silver Spoon by Guy Loomis, Ca. 1837-60
$19.50
Offered is a nice American coin silver teaspoon bearing the mark of silversmith Guy Loomis, working 1816-37 in Sheffield, Mass., and 1837 to his death in 1874 in Erie, PA. This spoon is from the Erie period, and so marked. It probably dates to prior to 1860. This piece is engraved with a period script owner's name of 'Mills' and has a good clear maker's mark or retailer's mark. This piece measures about 5 13/16 inches in length and weighs about 16 grams. Condition is fair overall, with a slight ripple in the handle and a bit of minor dimpling in the bowl, but no splits or repairs. All in all a nice Erie coin silver spoon!
